Homemade taco seasoning will make all your taco nights quick and easy! Just a few spices and you are on your way to spicy cooking!
Taco night happens often around here. Most weeks, it happens multiple times. Tacos are the “go to meal” when everyone is hungry, and no one feels like cooking a lot.
For seasoning, we can easily open a package of taco seasoning from the grocery store to season our meat. The little packets at Aldi are less than $.50 for a pound of meat. That’s not budget breaking, right?
The issue is the chemicals that some of the packages can have. Things like MSG, or gluten fillers. So, the easiest way to avoid any problem ingredients is to make your own.
This easy taco seasoning can be made in less than 2 minutes, and will be ready to go for taco night!
All you need is to layer your seasonings in a jar with an airtight lid. Aren’t they pretty all layered like that? You will want to have a jar with a tight fitting lid, to ensure that moisture stays out.
Moisture and seasonings-no bueno. That can create a rock hard mess. After your seasonings are added to the jar, simply shake to blend and you are ready to go. This is the best homemade taco seasoning, without MSG!
You can use this taco seasoning for any meat you would like:
- ground turkey
- chicken
- ground beef
Add it to potatoes, stir it into homemade salad dressings and more!

Is this homemade taco seasoning gluten free?
Yes! Unlike the store bought packages that can have wheat, soy, or other fillers, this homemade taco seasoning is gluten free.

The shelf life on this taco season is the same of the shelf life of the seasonings used. Generally, 3-6 months when stored in a cool, dark place. For that reason, you want to only make 1 batch at a time, and make more as needed.
