CARAMEL APPLE  GALETTE

I have to admit, that fall is my favorite time of year. Apple festivals, apple picking and just enjoying all things spicy sweet.

- All purpose flour - Salt - Brown sugar - Butter - Cold water - Apples - Homemade caramel

Ingredients

Place four, salt, and sugar in a food processor and pulse. Add in butter, and pulse until crumbly.

Get started!

Drizzle cold water until dough begins to come together. Turn out onto floured surface and knead a few times.

Form into a disk, and allow to rest in the fridge. Remove dough, and on a floured surface, roll into a 9 inch circle.

What's next?

Enjoy!

Core and thinly slice apples and place apple slices in middle of dough disk, and fold the edges up over the apples.

Bake, then remove from oven, and drizzle caramel over galette.

A galette is essentially what is used to describe a French pastry. It’s a flat, freeform cake that can be round and is made from a flaky dough.

What is a galette?

You can make a galette with either a homemade pie crust, or you can use frozen puff pastry dough.
