Baked donuts at home? Yes, please! These easy lemon glazed donuts are ready in less than 20 minutes, start to finish for that perfect breakfast treat!

My boys are hungry creatures in the morning. All four of them. It can be like a bear awakening from a long hibernation, and when it doesn’t get food right away, it gets dangerous. Such as it is in my home.
Breakfast is normally healthier around here, with fruits, cheeses, eggs, and turkey bacon on the menu normally. However, there ARE mornings that just won’t do. Must be the Frenchman’s influence, but some days, they just want DONUTS.
Fortunately, I am able to get some baked donuts ready for them in less time that it takes to go to the store and buy them. They are far healthier, too. NO trans fats, no weird ingredients or chemical preservatives. Just regular ingredients from my pantry. Glazed donuts=happy boys.

Are these cake donuts or yeast donuts?
There are typically two major categories of donuts. Yeast donuts and cake donuts. The yeast donuts tend to be bigger, and less dense. The cake donuts taste more like, well…cake. Cake donuts tend to be more dense in texture.
These lemon glazed donuts are a cake type donut, but still have a light texture. Lemony goodness, with a sweet tang. They are perfect with a cup of coffee, or even as an afternoon snack with tea.
You can have these delicious lemon glazed donuts for breakfast in your home in no time!
