Kick up your side dish favorite with spicy sweet potato fries!
While fries are often served in restaurants, sweet potato popularity is growing more and more. The reasons? Sweet potatoes have less calories and more vitamins per serving than plain white ones. Sweet potatoes also have far more Vitamin A than their white counterparts, with 22,00o IU versus 14 IU respectively. (source)
Sweet potatoes are the healthier choice with fiber as well. They boast 4 grams per serving over white potatoes, which have 3 grams per serving. Sweet potatoes also are a bit more sweet in flavor, and are often used like pumpkin.
Adding a bit of spice kicks that flavor up a couple of notches, and since we bake our homemade sweet potato fries, you don’t need any special equipment, either!

What about the cinnamon butter?
Perfect for delicious dipping, this cinnamon butter is a cinch to make. The flavor of the cinnamon, coupled with the chili powder on the sweet potatoes, make a great blend.
Can I leave the skins of the sweet potato on?
Absolutely! That is where the fiber really is. Funny thing, when I was a child, my mother was convinced that the skin of the sweet potato was poisonous. I am not sure why, but to the day she passed, she refused to eat it.
The skin is delicious, and nutritious and you can definitely eat it! Just be sure to scrub it really well to remove any dirt and grime.
