All the goodness of pure maple syrup, whipped with real butter, combines for a delicious sweet spread that goes great on cornbread, homemade artisan bread, pancakes, and more!

Who wants butter on all the things? This girl! I love spreading butter on bread, cornbread, and more. This deliciously sweet maple butter is perfect for that and more.
One of my favorite things about this maple butter is that it’s so simple and easy to make. It only takes 2 ingredients-maple syrup, and room temperature, softened butter. You can mix this with a wooden spoon in a large mixing bowl, or go the easier route and use a stand mixer.
How do I make this maple butter?
If you are using a stand mixer, you can use either the whisk or paddle attachment. I have better results with the whisk myself, but my mixer is the smaller one. Try both and see which one you like best.
To make this whipped butter by hand, simply mix the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir well by hand with a large wooden spoon. Allow the butter to come to room temperature for at least 20 minutes, then add maple syrup and whip.

Do I have to use butter? Can I use margarine?
If you want to use margarine, I really can’t stop you. I can beg and plead that you and your palate deserve the best, real food. However, if you want to use margarine, this recipe will work just as well.
How long will this maple butter last in the fridge?
Under proper refrigeration, most butter recipes this whipped butter should last 3-6 months. However, I have never had a batch last more than a day in my household.

What kind of maple syrup should I use?
You will want to use the real maple syrup, not the artificial type. Artificial maple syrup, under brand names like Jacks, Aunt Jemima and so on will be far too sweet in this recipe. It will also lead to the butter crystallizing and spoiling faster.
Can I freeze this homemade whipped butter?
Yes, you certainly can. Follow the directions to make the maple butter, then store in an air tight freezer container for up to 1 year in the freezer. Allow to come to room temperature before using for best results.
