I am in awe at how fast the seasons can change sometimes. One minute, it’s freezing cold and snowy on the ground and the next it’s warm and sunny. While we complain about being too hot, we blink and the leaves are going from green to deep reds, oranges and yellows. Life really does move quite fast sometimes.

When pumpkin spice time hits, it’s time for all things pumpkin. The combination of ground cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg is one of my favorite spice blends. Commonly called pumpkin pie spice, it’s warming, comforting, and goes get in one of my most popular donut recipes.

Are these healthier than regular donuts fried in vegetable oil?

Homemade baked donuts can be healthier than a fried donut. Of course, the amount of sugar, fat, and carbs does make it healthy or not. Either way, homemade donuts are a nice once in a while treat, but I wouldn’t eat them every single day. (at least not admit it 🙂 )

But, if you want, you can get a traditional homemade fried donut recipe here.

How do I spoon the batter into the donut mold?

You can use a regular spoon to add the batter, or you can use a pastry piping bag and pipe it into the donut molds.
